Plenum Cables & Connectors

Flammability:

Plenum cable is jacket with a fire-retardant plastic gray jacket of a low-smoke PVC with wire insulation of FEP. The UL equivalent standard is the UL-910 standard and meets FT6, which is made up of two primary tests, cable burn properties and smoke density.

Cable stiffness:

Plenum-rated cables are restricted to only allow certain chemicals for manufacture of the wire insulation and cable sheath. Typically this results in reduced flexibility of plastic cables, making it stiff and hard to bend.

Application:
