The connector type can be used to distinguish our products for installation in a device housing from cable parts. The connector type describes the difference between connectors that are mounted on enclosures, connectors that are mounted on cables, and other connection componentsdistributing signal and power.

Profibus Cables & Connectors

Profibus are divided into two categories of Profibus PA and Profibus DP.

Process Automation (PA):

Profibus is standardized according to IEC 61158 that means best interoperability of components from different manufactures.

Decentralized Periphery (DP):

The modular peripheral construction of the bus system simplifies installation and maintenance.

The Profibus PA is the leader in Process Automation in Europe, while Profibus DP range dominates worldwide with a bit rate of 1.5Mbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s. So, the type PA is generally used in current systems, and the type DP are only used for replacement purpose in already existing systems.
